An email i recieved and touched me in so many ways. I just want to share this with everyone. May Allah give us the strenght to leave our sins and forgive us. May he keep us steadfast in his path. Ameen.
In one verse Allah, the infinitely merciful, says: “It
may be that you hate something when it is good for you and it may be
that you love something when it is bad for you. Allah knows and you do
not know” (Surat al-Baqara, 216).
below is the email...may Allah forgive this brother and reward him greatly in the hereafter.
Assalamualaikum,
there are times when we commit a sin, and we think
about the amount of times we done this, and the bad feeling we have. We
also think will my Lord forgive me? will my Lord have mercy on me?
my friends we are all in the same postion. But despair not our Lord has
told us not to despair in His Mercy.
Allah the exalted says:
"Say:
O Ibadi (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by
committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not in the Mercy of Allah:
verily, Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most
Merciful. (39:53)
In our lowest moments we must remember this
verse and many others which inform us of how our Lord is waiting to
accept our repentance.
The Hadith of the Prophet (saaws) state: "There would come people amongst the Muslims on the Day of Resurrection with sins as heavy
as a mountain and Allah would forgive them". [Muslim] Muhammad (saaws) also said: "A believer will attain nearness to his Lord on the Day of Judgement and enveloping him in his Mercy, He Allah will make him confess his sins by saying: Do you
remember this sin and this sin? He will reply: My Lord I remember. Then He Allah will say: I covered it up for you in the life of the world,
and I forgive it for you today. Then the record of his good deeds will
be handed to him". [Al Bukhari and Muslim] My friends remember these statements and remind others.
InshaAllah...ameen
